Microsoft has confirmed that Database Availability Groups (DAG) will run on both versions of Exchange 2010 – Standard and Enterprise. As DAG uses Failover Clustering in Windows 2008, the version of operating system running Exchange 2010 should be enterprise though.
This is good news for small businesses, as they can run DAG without paying for Exchange 2010 enterprise license. But, bear in mind that standard edition of exchange is limited to 5 databases compared to 100 in enterprise edition.
