Exchange 2013 CU5

Microsoft has released cumulative update 5 for Exchange 2013.

As usual, the CUs are full builds. Hence, you don’t have to install 2013 SP1 (which is also CU4) first. This update also needs an AD schema update and hence a proper plan should be in place for medium to large organizations where the AD schema changes will have to be tested thoroughly & approved by various teams before giving the go ahead for the CU5 deployment.

  1. We have “a” user who keeps getting prompted a ID and PSW in outlook or Lync or both. I saw your article and noted these myself…

    I verified the following.
•I reset the user password to

    be sure.
    •Account was not locked out.
•I could sign in from the user

    machine, which confirms that

it is not a machine issue.

It turns out to be MSRTCSIP-OriginatorSID

    attribute should match the

    msExchMasterAccountSid in your case.

It has me thinking it could be an attribute somewhere but how one can find “the” attribute is the concern among other things. Also, sometimes he cant logon to AD but can moments later… (sometimes reboot)

Hope you may have a comment or better – is there an attribute list – checklist I can look for, etc.

    Appreciate it.

    Exchange 2010, Lync 2010, Outlook 2010…
