The Windows Server Team announced today that Service Pack 1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 was released to manufacturing (RTM) today. SP1 will be available to current customers of the Windows Volume Licensing program as well as MSDN & TechNet subscribers on February 16, 2011.  On February 22, both will be available to all customers through Windows Update.

The Exchange Team has announced that they have completed testing with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and the following versions of Exchange are supported on Windows 2008 R2 SP1;

  • Exchange 2010 SP1
  • Exchange 2010 RTM
  • Exchange 2007 SP3

Windows 2008 R2 SP1 includes the hotfixes required to install Exchange 2010 SP1, so no more installation of hotfixes one by one. Let’s see what all problems we will come across once we apply 2008 R2 SP1 on our Exchange 2010 servers!
