The working style has changed a lot and with that comes tools to express your emotions to an extend using emojis. We have this in all social media applications like WhatsApp and even in the work related Teams. But this option is rather ‘hidden’ in Outlook application on the desktop, while the emojis are straight in your face if you use Outlook mobile or Outlook on the web.
There are couple of ways to insert emojis in an Outlook email depending on the operating system you have.

Insert Emojis In Windows 10 & 11
Being a modern operating system, it is rather easier to get hold of the emojis in Windows 10 and 11. Follow the steps below to insert the emoji into an email using Outlook.
Launch Outlook and compose your email.
Put the cursor where you need the emoji. In order to bring up the emoji picker, use the key combination below.
Windows Key + . (Period)
Pick the emoji that best describes your emotion and send the email.
The key combination below also seem to be working in some operating system.
Windows Key + ; (Semi colon, next to the 'L' key)
Insert Emojis In Older Windows Machines
The emoji picker does not work on older Windows machines. But there is a workaround to get the emojis.
Launch Outlook and compose your email.
Put the cursor where you need the emoji. In order to bring up the emoji picker, click on Insert tab within the top pane. Navigate to Symbols -> Symbol -> More Symbols.
Select the font Segoe UI Emoji and you will see a lot of symbols. Click on the Subset on the right hand side to pick more meaningful emojis.
Select the emoji of your choice and click the insert button.
Hope that Microsoft makes it easier to insert emojis like Outlook mobile and on the browser soon. Until then, the shortcuts for the emoji picker will help you convey your emotion via an Outlook email ;-)
