I had a question today in my email asking as to why a personal archive is needed for resource mailboxes in Exchange 2010. At first, I thought that is not possible. My reasoning was that the developers would have surely thought about it and blocked the option to create a personal archive for resource mailboxes. But to my surprise, they haven’t!
I can’t think of any reason why you need a personal archive for resource mailboxes. Just to make the point clear, I have created a room mailbox called “Meeting Room One” in my lab.
Right clicking the room mailbox shows the option to enable the archive.
You surely can create an archive for resource mailboxes.
To answer the question that I got, I can’t think of any reason why it is still enabled. May be the developers missed to hide it!
